Take a Healthy Step to Losing Weight
The Healthy Steps Program focuses on long-term lifestyle changes, not just short-term solutions. This 12-week medically based weight management program is available to adults of all ages. Healthy Steps includes nutrition, exercise, education, and behavior modification that has proven to be successful for hundreds of participants.
Work with our wellness team to overcome your weight loss challenge. After discussing your weight loss goals, we'll create a simple personalized program to help you lose weight, both safely and effectively. Since excess weight can be the result of a variety of factors including genetics, sedentary lifestyle, eating habits, emotional distress, illness, or certain medications, we offer comprehensive weight management programs or private nutrition counseling depending upon your health condition.
Step 1: Nutrition
Your initial meeting with a registered dietitian is a fact-finding session. Your personal goals, body composition, weight, and activity levels will shape your customized nutrition plan.
- Healthy food choices and substitutions.
- Best times of day to eat.
- Balancing carbohydrates, proteins and fats.
- Daily calorie and fat intake.
- Healthy recipes.
Communication is maintained throughout the program with weekly visits and support along the way so you achieve your goals.
Step 2: Exercise
Meet with a degreed exercise physiologist to review your exercise history, discuss personal challenges that may be barriers to exercise and review your own health goals. An individualized exercise program is developed to complement your nutrition plan.
- 3-month membership with full access to Healthtrax Fitness.
- Five fitness coaching sessions to introduce you to the cardiovascular and strength training equipment inside the Centers.
- Aqua aerobics/swimming.
- Group exercise classes.
- Home exercise program.
Step 3: Education/Progress Points
Your weekly "Progress Point" is one-on-one contact with your wellness team to keep you moving in the right direction. The "Progress Point" includes a review of your weekly food and exercise diary, weigh-in, health information, and a low-fat recipe.
