Cardiac Wellness Programs: Guiding you on your journey to a healthier heart

It's Time For A Healthier Heart - Cardiovascular Disease Is the Number One Killer of Americans

Physical inactivity is recognized as a risk factor for coronary disease. Regular supervised aerobic activity increases exercise capacity and curtails the progression of heart disease.

Our experienced Care New England Wellness Center team will assist you with an individualized exercise program to meet your specific needs. An exercise physiologist will provide weekly blood pressure checks, as well as heart rate and glucose monitoring as needed during our program. The cardiac maintenance team will continue to educate you about nutrition, lifestyle modifications and weight loss to help you on your journey to a healthier lifestyle.

  • Decreased blood pressure and cholesterol levels
  • Increased stamina, energy, and ability to exercise
  • Positive mood with reduced effects of stress, anger, and anxiety

Cardiovascular Risk Reduction
This program is designed for those that have multiple risk factors for developing heart disease.

  • 12-week program
  • Intake/assessment appointment conducted by an exercise physiologist
  • Nutrition evaluation by a registered dietitian
  • Alternating weekly appointments with an exercise physiologist and a register dietitian
  • Supervised exercise sessions with an exercise physiologist include strength training, cardiovascular activity, stretching, and yoga
  • Pre/post data collection includes blood pressure, weight, body composition analysis, strength and flexibility measurements, and lifestyle profile

Cardiac Maintenance
This ongoing program is available for "graduates" of a medically supervised cardiac rehabilitation program who wants to continue receiving support and guidance in order to maintain lifestyle changed for health improvement.

  • Open-ended program (monthly fee applies)
  • Intake/assessment appointment conducted by an exercise physiologist
  • Nutrition consultations and education sessions available as needed

CARDIAC WELLNESS PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Exercise
A safe, supervised exercise program designed to help you become more physically active, reduce cardiac symptoms, increase muscle strength, and achieve your health objectives.

Nutrition
A personal nutrition plan developed to help you manage your weight and improve cholesterol and glucose levels. This is all done with your personal tastes and favorite meals being taken into consideration.

Behavior Modification
A major component of our program focuses on stress management and the "relaxation response," developed by Harvard-based Herbert Benson, MD. This method includes yoga and relaxation techniques which play an integral role in helping you enhance your coping skills, reduce your stress, and improve your overall well being.
