Better Nutrition

  • Keep food records - write down everything you eat and drink.
  • Eat mindfully.
  • Do not skip meals.
  • Do not eat most of your caloric intake late in the day.
  • Drink more water.
  • Eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily.
  • Eat a variety of foods at each meal.
  • Increase your intake of low fat dairy products.
  • Limit your total fat intake - eat more mono and polyunsaturated fats and limit your saturated and hydrogenated fats.
  • Eat more fiber - 25 grams per day.
  • Eat more whole grains, and less white flour.
  • Monitor your portion size.
  • Be active most days.
